A&S Competition
Make a representation or recreation of a period Icon, Image or Idol relating to a culture or faith active in Jerusalem at the
time of the Crusades.
Describe your creation(s) on a 3x5 index card. All are invited to participate, any and all mediums are welcome.
A prize will be awarded for the best creation.
Bardic Competition
Lord Raymond the Scot is coordinating the Bardic Storytelling Competition and Bardic Circle. The Company of St. Cecilia (Bards & Poets Guild) is sponsoring the activities. A prize will be awarded for the best presentation.Dessert Revel Competition
All are invited to participate in our Annual Dessert Competition. Make either a period dish and/or a dessert or subtlety celebrating this year's theme, Crossroads of Jerusalem. Describe your creation(s), including all ingredients used, on a 3x5 index card. Gode Cookery is a wonderful resource for period recipes to get you started. Learning to Judge Beer
Taught by The Honorable Lord Mikal Isernfocar This class will cover how to judge beer using the new Meridian and Inter-Kingdom Brewing and Vintning standards using commercial beers to train the eye, nose and palate in what to look for while judging (or in the case of Brewers, what should be looked for when your beer is judged). The first six people to sign up will be guaranteed samples of the commercial beers. No limit on class size. ID's will be checked (please remember to bring you drivers license or military ID with you to class). Handouts will be available on CD for $5.00. Donations to cover the cost of the commercial beers gladly accepted. Attendees are welcome to bring samples of their own brew to the class and time permitting, they will be added to the class material.Working with Skeletal Materials
Taught by The Honorable Lord Mikal IsernfocarThis class will cover beginning, intermediate and some advanced techniques of working with antler, bone and horn. We will discuss where to obtain materials, how to prepare them before beginning work and both period & modern techniques of working these materials. There will be demonstrations of some techniques and some of the tools you can use. Number of participants only limited by the size of the room and no age limit. Handouts will be available on CD for $5.00.

Introduction to Basic Medieval Loop-in-Loop Chains

Then, safe torch handling lecture followed with hands-on instruction on simple silver loop-in-loop chain construction. Hands-on students must be at least 18 years of age and will need to purchase a silver bracelet kit for $10.
The Inquisition Game: A Persona-Building Exercise
Taught by Mistress ChristiannaBuilding a persona is often a daunting task, and many people don't get past a name to put on a device submission. Learn how to begin the process of developing your SCA persona, or how to fill in the details if you have already established one. The first part of class focuses on getting started and filling in "20 Questions" about yourself. The latter part of class puts you in front of friendly Inquisitors that will delve into the things you ought to know! A great class for newcomers and the not-so-new alike!
